On Mac OS, the software needs to be downloaded separately (from HERE), and LiDE 400 needs to be manually registered as a scanner (in Device Settings Printers & Scanners list). If the computer is a laptop, you will need it to be plugged in and charging to ensure proper USB strength. Install the MP Drivers. Take the appropriate action as described on the screen. To use a network printer from a client machine, you must manually select the connection destination from the client. To manually select a connection destination, click Cancel in the Connect Cable window. When the confirmation message appears, click Yes. Insert the CD that came with your printer and run the setup. Windows Users – If the “Setup CD-ROM” does not autorun, insert the CD-ROM into the computer again and click on My Computer, select the CD-ROM and double-click MSETUP4.EXE. Windows 8 users - double-click CanonIJ. When the selection window opens, double-click the MSETUP4.EXE.
